House Corporation Report

Date: 8/4/2010 to 9/30/2010
Greetings Acacia Brothers.

Fall is just around the corner, with school starting in a little over a month. With that in mind, it's time to bring out the toothbrushes, paint brushes, vacuums and yard equipment to get the house shined up for everyone moving in this fall. Every room in the house will be filled this fall (Great job active chapter!), and we have plenty of first timers living in who will welcome a nice, comfortable place to help create the best college experience. Physically, the house is in solid shape, but we do have a list
of projects which need to be completed prior to the start of school in late September. The list ranges from light plumbing (fixture and toilet replacement), to light carpentry (repair of some door frames), spackling, painting, and flower bed maintenance. If you are available anytime during the upcoming month to help with any projects, please contact myself (ArloSommers@gmail.com, 614-551-5410), or any of the House Maintenance Committee members (Dave Cremer, Aaron Dearborn, or Jeff Harmacek), and we'll make sure we get tools and help in place to make the process go faster. If you cannot donate your time, but would rather sponsor a project, please call for a list of projects and the estimated costs, and
we'll make sure we get the help to accomplish what you are willing to support. Thank you for your consideration.

As a last note, there is current legislation being pursued (Collegiate Housing and Infrastructure Act of 2009 (CHIA) that would assist in the funding of house maintenance efforts. The following note was contained in the May 12th, 2010 e-mail distribution from the Acacia Fraternity headquarters. I ask that you take a moment to read the note by clicking on the Continued link below, and act on the call to help make this legislation a reality.
